On the site of what was once a grand British estate now lays the beating heart of Mayfair and its myriad of art galleries, high-fashion and businesses. Explore a small part of Mayfair’s history at Moncks.
The idea behind Moncks was simple, to create a great neighbourhood restaurant and bar in the heart of one of the world’s most prestigious locales. We serve time-honoured classic dishes using the finest produce, so that something seemingly simple is satisfying and delicious.
Our name is a nod to the seventeenth century Lord, Christopher Monck, who was the final owner of Clarendon Estate, a palatial residence that once stood on what is now Dover Street, Albemarle Street and Bond Street. Monck was a local legend, a politician, a treasure hunter and an innovator. We loved his spirit and the important role that he played in the history of Mayfair. We look forward to becoming an important part of the neighbourhood, like he once was.
We would recommend making a booking, however, walk-ins are always welcome.
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the temporary closure of Moncks. It has been an incredibly difficult decision to make, but the health and welfare of both our customers and our staff will always come before anything else we do.
We can’t wait to raise a glass with you when this is all over.
